Country legend to end 30-year touring career with Nashville farewell concert, report says

Country music star Alan Jackson will conclude his live performing career in June, marking the end of a more than 30-year run that established him as one of the genre’s most successful and enduring artists, PEOPLE reported.

‎The final full-length concert of Jackson’s touring career, billed as “Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale,” will take place Saturday, June 27, before a sold-out crowd at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

‎A lineup of major country stars is set to join Jackson for the farewell performance, including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Lee Ann Womack.

‎Jackson, 67, has cited both personal and health-related reasons for stepping away from the stage. He said he wants to spend more time with his family and has found touring increasingly difficult due to a degenerative condition.

‎“I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, played everywhere in the country and parts of the world,” Jackson said when announcing his farewell tour.

‎“I’ve had a wonderful career, and getting into my twilight years — all my daughters are grown, and I’ve got one grandchild and one on the way — I enjoy spending more time at home and don’t want to be away like I had to be in my younger days.”

‎According to PEOPLE, Jackson also has been managing Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare inherited neurological disorder that affects balance and mobility.

‎The condition, which he inherited from his father, impacts his legs and arms and has progressively worsened.

‎“Most of my fans know I have a degenerative health condition that affects my legs and arms and my mobility,” Jackson said.

‎“It’s getting worse, so it makes me more uncomfortable on stage. I just have a hard time, and I want to think about calling it quits before I’m unable to do the job like I want to.”

‎Jackson launched his recording career in 1987 and went on to become one of country music’s best-selling artists. He has built an estimated net worth of $150 million, ranking him ninth among the richest active country music stars in 2024, according to celebritynetworth.com
